Over thirty significant earthworks from the Bronze Age graced the landscape of southwestern Romania, with their archaeological remnants distinctly discernible on satellite images. Except for the two most prominent fortifications in the region (Cornesti – Iarcuri and Sântana – Cetatea Veche), these sites remained largely unexplored. Our interdisciplinary methodology aimed for efficient data acquisition, bridging gaps that traditional excavations might have taken decades to address. The urgency was underscored by the ongoing destruction of these archaeological sites due to intensive agricultural activities. Our overarching goal was to extract maximum scientific insight through an interdisciplinary approach, simultaneously establishing infrastructure for improved conservation and paving the way for numerous future research endeavors.

This is a hybrid event, which will be delivered on the University of Bradford campus (Richmond Building, Room E59) and online via Teams.
