Dr Phil Murgatroyd is the first Bradford based research to present in the 2016-2017 guest lecture series – a system which we have introduced to showcase current and past research activities conducted by members of the School of Archaeological Sciences. Dr Murgatroyd is currently working on the Lost Frontiers project, but his presentation takes us to research conducted for his PhD, at the University of Birmingham, and the use of Agent Based Modelling to simulate military movements during the medieval period.
Phil has returned to Bradford after completing his undergraduate degree here, but he has not followed a purely archaeological career. Having spent over 10 years in the computer industry before undertaking an undergraduate degree in Archaeology, Phil has excellent ability to apply novel technologies to archaeological problems.
We hope that you will be able to join us in welcoming Phil to the guest lecture series, and discovering more about Agent Based Modelling and its application.
