Dr Yvonne Inall, of the University of Hull, presents the third of our 2016-2017 guest lecture series, discussing her research on Iron Age spears in Britain, their typology and context.

Yvonne is currently a researcher at the University of Hull, where she is assisting with the long durée component of the Remember Me Project (Deep in Time: Meaning and Mnemonic in Archaeological and Diaspora Studies of Death). Involvement on the Remember Me Project arises from her PhD research at Hull, which studied burial practices, particularly martial burials, and connections with spears and identity construction.

It is Yvonne’s PhD research, on the British Iron Age and the Arras culture burials of East Yorkshire, which forms the focus of the lecture.

We hope that you will be able to join us for Yvonne’s interesting exploration of spear typology, disposal, and identity construction in the Iron Age.

Location

JSB, Richmond D floor
