For this lecture, we welcome Margret Hronn Hallmundsdottir, who will be presenting: Arnarfjordur in the middle ages; a decade of research in Iceland.

Abstract
The research Arnarfjörður in the middle ages has been ongoing for the last 10 years. The research aims to research the origin and development of residence from the settlement period to the Middle Ages in one fjord in the Westfjords of Iceland . We have already excavated on two farms , Hrafnseyri and next farm Auðkúla, but in addition to that we have used coring to confirm new farms found by surveying. We have also used thermal cameras with drones and located many new sites. We have also used remote sensing in the research. At Auðkúla we are researching a medieval farm that probably dates from around 10-11 century. In the lecture I will discuss our research over the last 10 years, what we have researched and what conclusions we have reached so far.
