Julian Richards filming at DAFS

11 Jun by James Walker

Julian Richards and Steve Shearn visited the department for 2 days filming as part of Julian’s 11-part Archaemedia documentary on Stonehenge (https://www.youtube.com/@julianrichards1483).

As part of the filming Julian interviewed Vince and Chris Gaffney about the their work as part of the Stonehenge Hidden Landscapes Project and Bradford’s recent research at Durrington Walls (https://intarch.ac.uk/journal/issue69/19/full-text.html) .

A significant part of the interviews centred on the technology used during survey and how the latest equipment at DAFS, provided through the AHRC RICHES project, will change future surveys (https://www.riches.ukri.org/funding/riches-investments/tranche-1-facilities/from-land-to-sea-a-facility-for-prospection-landscapes-and-people/)

Vince and Julian also had a trip down memory lane and reminisced on when William Goulding turned up at the Coneybury Henge excavation in 1980!
