Artificial Intelligence? New research from Taken at the Flood

10 May by Gaffney, Vince

SAFS’ AHRC Project, Taken At The Flood and collaborators have just published the results of a new study. The paper, led by TATF’s Andy Fraser, describes the application of machine learning for interpreting seabed sediments of archaeological interest. Although in its early stages, the research has the potential to completely change the way in which shallow-water seabed archaeology is identified. The article, titled: “Artificial Interpretation: An Investigation into the Feasibility of Archaeologically Focused Seismic Interpretation via Machine Learning” is free to read and download from here: https://www.mdpi.com/2571-9408/7/5/119
