SAFS does the double with "The Whole Tooth and Nothing but the Tooth!

27 MAR | BY GAFFNEY, VINCE

Dr Julia Beaumont does the double for SAFS by winning the Bradford monthly publication prize after our recent success with the our work at Calanais on the Ilse of Lewis (see https://bit.ly/2UomCgU)

Julia’s work, published in archaeometry, demonstrates that bone collagen can give an unreliable temporal dietary signature especially in juveniles. Her work shows that, with higher temporal resolution sampling of collagen from tooth dentine, it is possible to identify short‐term changes in diet previously invisible in bone.

Well done Julia – and if you want to read more go to – https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/arcm.12544
