The archaeomagnetic research laboratory was full to capacity on Wednesday 16th this week when we ran a training course in archaeomagnetic sampling for 18 professional archaeologists from a wide variety of organistions including NAA, Wardell- Armstrong, Albion Archaeology, Wessex Archaeology, Guard Archaeology, Headland Archaeology, TVAS, Cotswold Archaeology and MOLA. Participants discussed the pros and cons of the dating method and had hands on practice with the different sampling approaches. The event was organised by Dr Neil Suttie, who is funded through HEIF funding to develop collaborations.
