Bradford Researchers at CAA 2018

27 Mar 2018 by Micheal Butler

It was a busy week for all things computational in archaeology at the annual CAA conference held in Tubingen last week.

Bradford research featured strongly with doctoral researchers Li Sou, Andy Fraser and Micheál Butler presenting on their respective research.

Li’s research is exploring the potential of 3D digital documentation in support of the active conservation and management of three important archaeological sites in Shetland – Jarlshof, Mousa and Old Scatness.

Andy and Micheál’s research is integrated into the Europe’s Lost Frontiers project, which endeavours to develop a new paradigm for the study of submerged palaeolandscapes. They are exploring the application of seismic mapping techniques and complexity systems modelling respectively, as part of their doctoral research.
